Promising start to a tough night

February 20, 2008

Character building…that’s what they say. Warren Ferguson
and the Ferguson Autosports team went to PCR looking to
rattle the competition on January 16th and while the night
started with great results, the end result was not desired.

The Deco Glaze, Fruitwheels, Visual Impact sponsored car
was fast in time trials posting a 12.50 second lap, 5th
place out of the 45 cars at the track. The best result in
only the third race since putting the new team together.

“Our lap times continue to get better as we get a handle on
the new car. Tonight we started to show what we have and
what can be expected in the future,” said Warren. “When I
raced some years ago we were a threat, and that’s where we
plan to get back to. Deco Glaze Fruitwheels, Visual Impact
and my family have given that opportunity again and I won’t
let them down”.

The night turned tough when Warren was placed mid field in
the first heat due to the handicapping format at the PCR
track. With a narrow heavy track offering little passing
and a race car that was too tight for conditions, Warren
became boxed in to a 6th place result, one spot short of
transferring to the feature race.
With most of the top 8 qualifiers caught in the same
predicament the B-main was a tough event with Warren
starting in position 5. The N32 car moved into 4th spot in
the early laps and endured a number of stoppages while
other cars crashed. On the last corner of the last lap
while battling for the 4th and final transfer spot, Warren
and another car came together resulting in a spin which
found the N32 car fall gently onto its side and out of the
results. A disappointing end to the night.

Next week sees the Warren and the team back at Parramatta
on February 23rd with full representation from the Deco
Glaze staff at the event. In the mean time be sure to check
out www.warrenferguson.com for updates, as well as look out
for our team apparel that can be purchased from our truck
next week.

Ends release.
