Top 5 finish for Ferguson Autosports

March 10, 2008

Heading to the track this week in the Fruitwheels Kenworth,
Deco Glaze sponsored Warren Ferguson had one goal in mind;
finish better than last weeks 7th place. This he
accomplished in the N32 Eagle with a 4th place run at PCR
on Saturday night.
Time trials found Warren in 12th place after two attempts
due to a red light being called on the first attempt by
officials due to track debris. Warren felt his first run
was better but was happy with his position as it set a up a
second row start in heat four.
Rocketing from outside the second row on what has become a
signature PCR rough, soggy, narrow racetrack the N32 Visual
Impact machine dropped into 3rd place in front of Brett
Loadsman remaining right behind the leaders until the
finish, transferring to the Dash and main event.
Warren was lucky enough to have position one drawn for the
dash by a member of the crowd and feeling confident the
team tuned the car for what would be a 3rd place finish in
the dash. “The car was just a bit tight for the
conditions and it slowed us a little. Third is still a
great result for the Ferguson Autosports Team and will
start from position 5 in the A-Main”, commented Warren.
The A-main was a torrid affair with a fast narrow track and
saw some 6 cars get upside down during the race. Warren
jumped into 5th place from the outset and was moving along
strongly with the leaders in sight until being crashed into
by a competitor trying an over ambitious move considering
conditions. Warren somehow managed to do a 360 spin and
keep the car going allowing him to get his position back on
the ensuing yellow light. With nine laps left to race
Warren found himself in 4th spot but with a car that had a
damaged Jacobs Ladder and torsion stop (suspension
components) that would hamper any more forward progress. In
the end a great 4th place was the result behind winner Ian
Loudoun.
Thank you to our faithful crew, sponsors and supporters and
we look forward to seeing you at our next race at
