Strong Results Continue for Ferguson Autosports

April 9, 2008

Warren Ferguson’s return to sprintcars has stepped up a few
notches since the inception of the Ferguson Autosports race
team in January 2008. Saturday April 5th was no exception
with the 2 - time PCR feature winner of the past showing he
has the speed to climb back into the winner’s circle.

The black 32 was a jet early, being the fastest car in hot
laps and posting a 12.13sec lap in time trials with an
average speed of 137kph. This placed the team 5th out of
the 45 cars on hand.
“The track is great tonight,” commented Warren, “a lot
smoother and wider than of late. It’s nice to try our car
on this surface as we haven’t had to many opportunities to
do so”.

A solid 5th place in his heat transferred Warren straight
to the A-main and into the dash event that would set his
position for the A-main.

With great support from sponsor Deco Glaze, many of the PCR
fans were handed free hats by the Deco Glaze people while
Warren was on the track participating in the dash draw. A
great draw meant the Deco Glaze, Fruitwheels, Visual Impact
car would start from position 3 in dash 1. After a hectic
6-lap race Warren finished in 3rd and would start from
inside the third row, position 5, for the crucial A-main
event.

The team opted for a tight set up that would hopefully
bring the car home fast at the end of the race as the track
slicked off, but it was not to be. After 30 laps, Warren
had slipped back to 10th at the finish, struggling with a
difficult racecar for most of the race. “I kept telling
myself to be patient, the track will come to us” said
Warren, “The car was much better on long runs, the red and
yellow light stoppages throughout the race hurt us. We
rolled the dice, tried a set up and went for the win, but
the car really didn’t work until the last 5 laps and we
ended up with a top 10 finish.”

Please remember there is one last chance to see Warren in
action before the season ends on April 19th when the NSW
Championship is battled out at Parramatta City Raceway.
Many thanks again to our fans, supporters and sponsors -
Deco Glaze, Fruitwheels and Visual Impact.
