Fast Times at PCR NSW Title

April 22, 2008

The NSW title was always going to be a hotly contested
event. 45 cars signed under very heavy skies but the
Ferguson Autosports team was confident of great results,
even if they weren’t confident of the weather.

Eventually the cars hit a nice smooth track even with the
recent wet weather. The air quality was good and time
trials produced what was undoubtedly one of the fastest
sessions at PCR this year with half a second separating the
top 25 runners. Seven of these breaking into the magical
11sec bracket at PCR. One of those was Warren Ferguson with
an 11.96 sec lap and 6th fastest.

“I really enjoyed the track” said Warren” the car was close
to perfect, I just scrubbed a little speed going into turn
3 otherwise I think we could have had quick time”.

As with the PCR handicapping system Warren would start
position 5, row 3 in his heat. This would be no easy task
to transfer with a strong heat and recently crowned PCR
champ, Ian Louden, starting along side. The heats were
fierce with some very quick times laid but little passing
in the top 5. The Deco Glaze, Fruitwheels, Visual Impact
car would find it the same and after challenging Louden for
most of the race the number 32 finished 6th and one spot
out of a transfer.

“The track is so fast that it is difficult to get a run on
any one. We were a little quicker than the guys in front
but it means nothing unless you can get in front of them.
It’s disappointing to be this fast and have to come from
the B-Main.”

Unfortunately the rains came and washed the meeting away
and it is not certain that the event will be completed.

Warren and the Ferguson Autosports team would like to thank
our sponsors who enable us to make this happen – Deco Glaze
Glass Splashbacks, Fruitwheels Refrigerated Transport And
Visual Impact Computerised Embroidery. Their support is
valued throughout the race season and we look forward to
their continued association and friendship. Thank you to
our supporters and the race fans in general. This team
appreciates each time you come along and watch us race.

After some great runs this year, we look forward to next
season and with bigger and better results. Please keep in
touch with us via our website www.warrenferguson.com over
the winter and please support our sponsors where you can.

Ends release.
