Ferguson Looks Forward to Next Race

September 22, 2008

The NSW title has always been a “hoodoo” event for Warren
Ferguson. In past years blown motors, crashes or no ride
halted results, this year was no exception, although less
dramatic.

After starting the night out with 6th quick time, the Deco
Glaze N32 car transferred to the all-important dash with a
fine forth place in heat race number two. This set up a
front row draw for the dash and things were really looking
up, but a mistake in set up found Warren finishing the dash
in 7th place. This resulted in a position 14 start for the
A-main.

“I was really disappointed, it was the longest 6 lap race I
have ever run,” said Warren, “All I could do was hang on
and watch cars pass me while we spun our wheels with no
grip”.

Immediately after the dash the crew of George, Jason, Blake
and Ryan set about helping Warren change the car’s set-up
dramatically for the feature on what was now a super slick
racing surface.

Warren knew he would have to gas it up from the green as
Kirstin handed him his helmet, and that’s what he did. Past
three cars on the outside on the first lap, and looking to
go around three more when one speared out crashing into the
left side of the number 32 and ripped the tire bleeder
valve out of the rim causing a flat tire and putting us out
of the race.

The team now looks forward to finalising the washed out
2008 Aust Title on October 4th.
