Warren Finds improvement with New Car
January 12, 2009
12th January 2009
With a couple of races back under the belt after a nasty crash Warren Ferguson is settling into the new Maxim.
Racing on Saturday 10th of January saw the Deco Glaze n32 car time in 17th on what was still a greasy track. This provided a front row start in the Heat which was quickly thrown away with a massive wheel stand right on the start due to a too tight race car.
Not to be thrown the team stayed with the same set up on what was now a quickly drying PCR track to transfer into the A-main from a solid 3rd place in the B-main.
"You know I just cant thank our sponsors Deco Glaze, Fruitwheels, Visual Impact and G&S Forklifts enough. They've all hung in there on what has been a horror stretch over the last 6 weeks." said Warren. "Lets see what we can do for 'em in the A-main".
Starting from 19th would make things a tall order with a strong field of international and local drivers on hand. By lap 22 Warren was looking like he had found some rhythm and had moved into 10th place. However while Warren was attempting a pass, another competitor cut down track abruptly bumping wheels and finding Warren in a spin. Back to the rear he went with an ultimate finish of 13th. A much better result but a solid top ten result that went begging.
"We'll be back next week for the two night WSS show on Friday and Saturday. My confidence is growing again so we will see what we can do at this blue ribbon event". added Warren.
