Warren Grabs Promising Result

February 3, 2009

3rd February 2009

January 31st saw the PCR Posse in full swing with 47 cars on hand. Unfortunately the track dealt to early qualifiers was cruel, however in the end the cream rose to the top.

On a slimy racetrack Warren drove the Deco Glaze, Fruitwheels, Visual Impact, G&S Forklifts Maxim to 24th position in time trials which turned out to be a solid result in the conditions.

A qualifying transfer direct from his heat meant an A-main start but unfortunately no dash due to the time trial result.

"You can't time trial on a slimy track" commented Warren, " At least if its slick you can tighten up but the in the slime you have to just wait on the car too much. There was a number of fast guys with an early time draw that were completely disadvantaged".

The Ferguson Autosport N32 would start from position 20 in the 24 car field. Lap one saw a nasty flip in turn one which assisted the inside row in moving up the grid a few spots, but Warren had no such luck in the outside row. After a steady start the Deco Glaze car started moving through the pack one by one ultimately finishing in 9th spot. A great result, passing half the field in 30 laps.

"I was feeling great at the end of the race, my fitness was good", said Warren, "I wish it went for another 10 laps, we just kept passing guys and I nearly passed another two on the last lap. A big thank you to Dwayne Lawrence and the crew who worked on finding a successful set up for the A-main".

The race was won by deserving winner Ian Madsen with the PCR track point score leader Mitchell Dumesny in 6th spot.

Warren and his team will be back at PCR on February 14th hopefully in our traditional black, orange and silver colours.
