Stronger results for Ferguson Autosport

15th November 2009

Warren Ferguson approached the last two PCR meetings looking for consistent speed - Speed that the team happily found.

November 7th found Warren qualify 10th, and transfer through his heat to the Dash which resulted in a 5th place finish after trying some set ups for the feature. The feature however only went 5 laps for the number 32 when drive line failure knocked the number 32 out while running in the top 10.

" It was disappointing" said Warren, the car was a little tight and wouldn't turn in real well and I was just waiting for the track to come to us, I'm sure we would have moved up a couple of spots before the finish as we had just past the car that ran 8th when the drive line blew."

Plenty of mid week work on the car found the team replacing the rear end and drive shaft along with a number of valve springs to breathe a bit more life into the motor.

November 14th saw the team arrive with some confidence and that showed with an 8th place qualifying effort from the 50 cars in attendance.

Some hard racing meant a 4th place in the heat and a transfer to the Dash and A-main. A 6th place finish in the Dash from a 3rd row start resulted in starting position of 12 for the A-main.

A bit of confidence goes a long way and Warren was fast from the outset of the main. Moving up to 6th place and starting to hunt down Max Dumesny for 5th when things changed. A bump of wheels earlier in the race had damaged the jacobs ladder which locates the rear end in place had failed with about 10 laps to go. Holding on to position 6 Warren was passed by Ian Madsen with two laps to go and finished a fine 7th place.

"It was a great result for the team" commented Warren, "We had next to no crew this week and my family really stepped up to the plate - A big thank you goes to George, Lisa and Kirstin for a job well done."

The team wishes to thank the continued support of it's sponsors, Fruitwheels, Deco Glaze, Visual Impact, G&S Automotive and Why Walk Used Cars. Without these guys we couldn't compete at the level we do.

Ferguson Autosports look forward to next weeks twin feature night at PCR on November 21st.
