Warren Ferguson - Runnin' Strong

December 20, 2011

Ferguson Autosports and Driver Warren Ferguson are continuing their early season constancy with another three race nights in the books (albeit one as a rainout).

The consistency finds Warren sitting 3rd in the Tyrepower PCR track championship heading into the holiday race period. A position that Warren plays down.

"Its too early to look at points", said Warren, " We need to focus on continued consistency and aim for top 5 or better results, the points take care of themselves then. The Deco Glaze / Fruitwheels Maxim car has been working really well and responding to our tuning, our motor program is in good shape and its showing with results at the front of the field".

November 19th saw Warren with a 1st and a 5th in the heats, but a rear brake issue in the first meant changing rear ends before the second heat keeping the hardworking crew busy. Warren blasted to the lead in the feature and was lapping cars by lap 3, losing the lead after running wide on lap 6, lap 8 it all came to a halt while challenging for the lead when the drive line came apart. Instead of a possible win, Score up 21st and a DNF.

November 26th was rained out.

December 3rd found the format modified to a time trial night. Unfortunately the racing surface was not in great shape. Warren timed early before the track cleaned up and posted 15th quick. A 3rd place in his heat delivered a direct transfer to the final, but out of position 12. In a race punctuated by cautions and red lights, Warren worked his way to the front at one point reaching second before settling for third in a curfew shortened feature race.

"Its great for our team to reach the podium, depending on how the yellows fell the whole race could have been better or worse", Warren stated, "I think I passed one car six times only to get a caution which put me back to the last lap, I think a lot of us were in the same position. You really earned your spots tonight as the track was not an easy one".

The Deco Glaze, Fruitwheels, Link, GM Poles team head in to the Holiday race period starting on Boxing Day December 26th at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway for a 6 race stretch ending January 14th which will keep the whole team busy.

Thanks to the support of our fans, crew and sponsors we look forward to seeing you all at the races.
